What types of duck blinds work best?

By Robert B.

Duck blinds are a very simple and cost effective way to increase you're chances of getting some great ducks out on the pond or in the field. There many different types of duck blinds available, depending on how you want to approach duck hunting. Be sure to buy one that is made for the style of duck hunting you enjoy the most.

Bail duck blinds

These things are very clever! It looks like a hay bail and the top can be folded back once you spot some ducks and are able to get a good shot off. There are two and three man versions available online.

Ground duck blinds

This type of blind looks like a very small tent with just enough room for you to lay down under. These things blend in excellently into the ground, with different patterns for reeds, corn, whatever you want.

Boat duck blinds

Many people prefer to take duck hunting boats, which is a good idea. Except the boat looks pretty obvious out in the lake or pond! These blinds cover up the top of the boat with a camo pattern so that the shiny metal of the boat can't be seen. They have a couple holes in them for you to set down in your boat.

Regardless of the type of duck hunting your prefer, there are many types of duck blinds to suit your tastes! You may also find it useful to scatter duck decoys around your position to attract ducks more efficiently.
