For example, you are a deer hunter through and through, you do not want to go and buy the biggest 3d whitetail targets you can find. And here's why, the bigger the 3-D archery target, the easier it is to hit a good shot. That will lead to the shooter thinking they are good enough and they may start to shoot less even when they have some free time. That is not good because every one can always use more practice.
If you buy some small buck or doe 3D archery targets, it is a smaller kill zone to hit and therefore you feel the need to practice more and fine tune your skills. Then when that doe you want to take in the early season is a realistic size target to hit. Then when the bruiser buck comes through later on in the season, you will have no problem hitting that 200 pound animal's kill zone.
Also, you get what you pay for in your 3-D targets, most all 3D archery targets are self healing and they all say they are the best. Some are really tough to get your arrows out of them too. So stick to well known name brands such as Mckenzie, Morrell, Delta, Rhinehart, and Blue Ridge. I hope this article has given you some guidance into purchasing quality 3-D targets. Put those arrows in the 10 ring!
