How to use estrus bleat calls to get a big buck

By Kevin B.

Estrus bleat calls have taken over the deer woods everywhere these days and for many reasons. You buy this call and it is in the shape of a can, all you have to do is turn it upside down and then turn it back right side up. It is that easy, the result is a human mistake free, doe in heat call.

During the rut, that is the one sound that can make the difference on your hunt. This is the sound all bucks want to hear. It imitates a doe ready to breed. Primos and Quaker Boy game calls were the first to sell these can calls. Most hunters might be familiar with the Beatty Buck, which Mike Beatty credit's the can to his success of taking that monster buck a few years back. Since then, there has been a craze in all game call makers to come out with their own sort of can product to sell. Many new ones now have some extra features. But for around seven or eight bucks, you cannot beat the regular can calls.

Most estrus bleat calls come with a cap that you can put over the sound making end that prevents the call from making noises when you do not want it to. I have the quaker boy can and I like it very much. It does make mini bleats when I am walking through the woods, but because of the cap it is a very silent sound. Which can be a little irritating, but it is worth it. I encourage all hunters to enter the woods next season with some sort of estrus bleat calls in a can, they have proven to work for many hunters and you could be missing out.
