Are you using the right ice fishing supplies?

The proper ice fishing supplies can mean the difference between going home cold and empty handed, or having a great time and catching a lot of fish. By no means is this list completely comprehensive, this is a summary of some ice fishing supplies that you should take in addition to your normal fishing equipment and gear. It is also assumed that you'll wear proper clothing for the weather and always make sure the ice is thick enough.

• Ice auger - A good one of these is essential to get a good hole quickly drilled in the ice.
  
  
• Fishing shelter - Unless you plan on freezing while on the ice, either a wooden or cloth fishing shelter should be on your list of ice fishing supplies.
  
  
• Ice line - This is slightly better fish line, ideal for cold water conditions.
  
  
• Hand warmers - These little things should be on everyone's ice fishing supplies list. They are great for warding off frost bite or just cold hands in general.
  
  
• Ice fishing bobbers - Ideal for ice fishing conditions.
  
  
• Ice scoop - Who knows what you'll need this for, but you'll mind many uses for one while out on the ice.
  
  
• Spud bar - You should never get on the ice without knowing the proper thickness. These make it easy to check the thickness.
