You don't want too big so that it gets caught on briers in the woods, but if it's too small it'll make for an uncomfortable seat in the woods. Try to get the dimensions of the seat cushion before you make a purchase, and then make a template of those dimensions with some cardboard and see if you fit.
Is the turkey hunting vest with a seat cushion made with water proof material? The last thing you want is getting wet or your cushion getting water logged.
What type of pockets and where are they located on your vest? They should be easy to reach and hold most of your turkey calls and other turkey hunting supplies. Try to avoid pockets that close with Velcro because it can be noisy. Instead, look for silent zippers.
Does your vest have some safety orange on it? Your turkey hunting vest should have some orange for your safety, but it doesn't have to be entirely orange. Try to get a vest that has orange on the back rather than front, which keeps you concealed better from the turkeys.
