Are turkey decoys the best way to attract those gobblers?

By Kevin B.

When hunting turkeys, whether you are hunting those eastern gobblers, or the Merriam turkey, one thing is for sure, you need every advantage you can get. I mean every advantage, turkeys are definitely one of the most challenging animals to harvest. To do it consistently year after year is truly something well earned. One of the best ways to greatly increase your odds of bringing in that gobbler into shooting range is to have turkey decoys.

Turkey Decoys are really easy to setup; it takes only about a minute. They are really lightweight, so when entering the woods, they will not bog you down or anything like that. They are not highly priced. There are many different types and models to choose from. Not to mention all of the different brands of turkey decoys you have to choose from.

The two brands that I can guarantee that will work for you and give you an excellent price and value for a long time to come. These two brands are feather flex decoys and delta turkey decoys. These two brands both sell their single hen decoys for about twenty bucks. You can buy them feeding, or multi position, or content hen. They also sell sets for about forty bucks and these are nice because you get two hens and a young jake.

That is all a tom turkey needs to see to get him going. Another option other than using all three is to buy the set of turkey decoys and let a buddy use just a hen and you use the other hen as well as the tom. That way you can save each other a little money and still have exactly what you need to bring in the dinner.
