Learn which fishing careers and jobs that are right for you!

By Kevin B.

I think if anyone out there who enjoys the outdoors and really loves to fish would have no problem having fishing careers for the next thirty years, fishing to make a living. But the reality of it is that it is not for everybody and not to mention there are not a whole lot of fishing careers available in the career market.

If you are thinking about being like a bass angler there are ways to make it a reality. Enter a local tournament, I am not talking about just a regular tournament every other weekend in your hometown. I am talking like a state fishing tournament, a pro-am is what it is usually called.

Anyways you have to show your stuff then and there and win the tournament, from there you can move on to bigger and better tournaments and possibly become an angler on tour like FLW and Bass Masters. There are other ways to have fishing careers other than that though. You could work for state watercraft departments or for a state hatchery or fishery. Also if you live near a coast of a body of water such as an ocean, you can have a charter company, where people pay you to take them fishing, it involves you doing some fishing of your own as well. Then you can always fish in the oceans and give your catch to markets.

These are just a fraction of the ways to make your love of fishing a lifetime of enjoyment and make money doing it. If you love fishing, then definitely research different fishing careers and you'll never know what you'll find.
