Use plenty of decoys! You'll be amazed how affective multiple duck decoys and some good duck calls can be. Just consider these as tools in a very large toolbox made specifically for duck hunting.
Are you using a boat? Getting out in the reeds is the best place to camouflage your boat. You can also get duck blinds and boat covers that will help blend your boat into the surroundings while duck hunting in California.
Don't forget about all of the mosquitoes you'll encounter while hunting ducks. Regardless of how well you prepare, you'll still be miserable if you're slapping at mosquito bites every other minute! Don't underestimate a good repellent. Definitely look for the scentless ones, unless you want the ducks to think something fishy is going on.
Most people who try it enjoy duck hunting in California, but it's not for everyone. At least give it a try, you'll be glad you did!
