Review: Remington Great American Bird Hunt for Wii Bird Hunting Game

Just in time for the holidays, here's a review of a bird "hunting" game which you may - or may not - want to buy for that special sportsman on your Christmas list. It provides lots of action and a good variety of game, doesn't represent hunting very much at all, and can be fun to play with friends. All in all, not a bad way to spend some time (I've certainly done worse), but is it worth the $30 price tag? Read the review to find out what I think.

How To Fish a Jig and Pig
A jig and pig is a great bass bait, especially in the fall and winter. It is known for catching quality fish. I won a club tournament at Jackson and had big fish last November using a jig and pig. They work great this time of year.

Recipe for Deer Venison Chili
My wife can cook like nobody's business, and she never hesitates to whip up something great using the meat from my whitetail deer. Her venison chili is so delicious, I just had to share it with you - this stuff is good! If you like a lot of spicy heat, you'll want to add more hot stuff to yours... I'd rather taste the meat, cheese, and whatnot than get my mouth burned up with hot sauce. Enjoy!

Clip, Split Ring or Swivel for Fishing?
Do you use snaps, swivels and split rings? I have tried all three over the years. Some people use one or the other on all their lures, some always tied directly to the line. Here are some of my thoughts on using them.

Review: Utility Knife Hook Blades for Skinning/Dressing Big Game

Last year, while shucking out the two deer mentioned below, these knife blades came to mind. I went ahead and dug them out of my pack, along with my Rhino knife. It turned out well - they did me right, albeit with a shortcoming or two. My buddy was so impressed that I gave him my spare Rhino knife and a pack of blades, which made him a happy man.
