Review: Stinger Shotgun Bore Cleaner

The Stinger shotgun bore cleaner is pretty cool. It's a shotgun shell with cleaning goodies inside. You load it and fire it, which pops a primer and flings a string out the end of your gun's barrel, and then you drag the cleaning goodies through the gun's bore. And it even does a pretty good job of cleaning your gun.

Review: Reel Sling Retractable Rifle and Shotgun Sling

This nifty high-quality sling retracts using a high-strength tether and reel design, and separates into two stowable pieces so it never leaves your gun. It's a unique item, and could be great for some hunters in some applications, but it was awkward and a bit noisy for my taste...

IGFA Restores Smallmouth Record
The IGFA has very specific rules on how fish must be caught to be certified as a record. Some old records have been questioned and they do as much research as possible to make sure they are valid. The smallmouth bass record has gone through extensive research and has been re certified.
Do you think this was the right thing to do? Did they make the right decision? What do you think of world records and how the IGFA certifies them?

Bridges Are Forgotten Bass Fishing Hotspots

Captain Mike Gerry says you can always catch bass around bridges and tells why. There are many factors that control bass behavior and most of those factors can be found around bridges.
Captain Mike lists baitfish, cover and current as his top reasons bass are around bridges. I would add structure - not only is there rock cover around bridges, their structure offers a long point running out to the deepest water in the area, and also vertical structure and cover with the pilings under the bridge. Add shade under the bridge on bright, sunny days, too.
Do you fish bridges for bass? Are there any other factors that you think make them good?
