Camping cut from Indiana fishing area (The Indianapolis Star)
In another belt-tightening move, the state of Indiana plans to shut down a small campground in Lawrence County. The Williams Dam fishing area's boat ramps and fishing platform will remain open, just not for camping, the Department of Natural Resources said in a news release.

State offers free fishing this weekend (The Voice)
The newly formed Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment is reminding anglers the agency's bi-annual free fishing weekend will be held this Saturday and Sunday. The free fishing weekend is an opportunity for people to fish all of the waters of the state without having to purchase a fishing license, although all of the normal fishing regulations do apply.

Energizer Night Strike Handheld Light Goes Bonkers

Last night, I published a post linking to three new flashlight reviews. Well, something happened later that night... namely, the Night Strike Handheld light lost its mind! It decided it was a good idea to turn itself on and then ignore the switch when I tried to turn it off. I don't need some of that.

Hunting Life After Death

I continued to hunt after Dad died, and the following deer season was the most productive I'd ever had. Although it was tainted by his absence, I'm proud of my "best worst hunting season" - for more than just the venison in my freezer and the buck head on my wall. I faced a tough challenge and made it through, with the help of God and good friends.
