Do We Have A New Record Bass?

Last July a potential world record bass was caught in Japan. The IGFA, the official fish record keepers, has been studying the application for this fish as a new world record for over four months and will announce its decision on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:30 PM EST.
The current world record was caught by George Perry in Georgia. It has stood for over 70 years. Although a bigger bass was caught in California a few years ago, it was snagged and did not qualify for the record, to it was never entered.
The IGFA press conference about the decision will be shown live on Bassmaster.com
What do you think about the world record? Some say fish stocked outside their native range should not be considered for the record. Others say fish caught in any method, not just on sporting tackle following IGFA rules, should be considered.

I like fishing in the winter and have caught some big bass this time of year. This past Sunday, January 6, 2008, I got a 8.80 pound bass in a club tournament at Jackson Lake. I posted details of the day in my daily fishing diary in the forum. The fish hit a Strike King Series 5 crankbait in Sexy Shad color. The day was fairly tough and I won the tournament with two bass weighing 12.18 pounds. My other bass was a nice 3.38 pounder and looked good before I landed the big one. Check out my winter fishing tips and share your comments and how you do in the comments section below. Also share any of your winter tips.

A lifetime of hunting has taught me a few things, and every now and then I get smart enough to put some of them down in writing. Dad taught me that learning is a lifelong process, and as usual, he was right... so I'm going to keep on learning.
Meanwhile, I'll do my best to share my knowledge with others, just like Dad always did. He was always willing to help, always in the most practical way. Therefore, I've condensed some of my most important hunting lessons into handy little tips that are easy to read, easy to remember, and won't take much time out of your busy day.

How to remove a tick? Good question. Folks have been asking that one for ages, and coming up with all kinds of different solutions. Sometimes they work okay... but usually not, in my experience. This product, the Tick Twister, actually works - but I recommend against twisting the tick. Just use one of these tools to pull the tick straight out.
