BASS Cancels Its Women's Bassmaster Tour

The Bass Angler Sportsman Society (BASS) announced it is canceling its Woman's Bass Tour. Started in 2005, this tournament series was open to women only. It drew a lot of support from anglers and industry in the beginning but participation had been declining and the economy makes it much more difficult to attract sponsors.
Women have been allowed to enter professional trail tournaments for many years but, with draw tournaments, that creates some problems. BASS said in their announcement women would be welcome in their other tournaments and they would help them enter any trail they qualified for.
Pam Martin Wells qualified for the Bassmasters Classic through the WBT last year, the second woman to qualify.
Susan Dameron did a series of articles here about her experiences on the WBT. I am sure the women that participated in the WBT will be disappointed, but I hope some will continue to fish in the other tournaments.

Over the past 14 months or so, American citizens bought a tremendous number of guns, showing that they fear Obama and his administration, and expect their rights to be even further trod upon by this extremely power-hungry administration. If you're among those who'd like to buy a gun, and are interested in doing so online, check out this article. It might help you get a better deal or a better gun, and it should certainly let you know what to expect.

Deer Drive for the Nintendo Wii console is less about hunting and more about shooting. You definitely do a lot of shooting! In fact, it often feels like an electronic shooting gallery. It does have some twists that have a little something to do with hunting, but they're more confusing than anything else. For example, "Breath Control" slows down time. Um... why? That hardly ever happens in real life.

This handy-dandy little tool is just what the doctor ordered for loading and unloading magazines for your AK47 or Galil. What's that you say? Loading a magazine is not difficult? Well, you're right, it's not - but this thing makes it quite a bit easier and has the potential to cut loading time in half. Also, it saves a lot of wear & tear on magazine feed lips. And - drum roll, please - it unloads magazines as well. Ever unloaded an AK mag by hand? It's a real pain in the keister. But unloading with a LULA is very easy, and even kinda fun. Check it out.

Papa John sends in a report on fishing on Lake Conroe on a regular basis and it is posted here. He likes catching all kinds of fish on Lake Conroe and other places. This picture shows he can land big bass, too. This one hit a tiny crappie jig and he was able to land it on six pound line.

I bought four of these expensive jerkbaits and the first one I used broke on the second fish I caught. They have great action and flash but are developing a reputation for being fragile. At $25 each they are too expensive to use if they do not hold up any better than this one did. The picture shows the one that broke - the bill is missing.
