Destin.ZapGuide.org is Users' Connection to Everything Destin - in an Instant

The city of Destin is a vibrant and vital community, yet to many it is still a well kept secret. The renowned Fodors.com website features only three restaurants in their 2009 Destin review! Navigating typical yellow pages type directory sites also yields incomplete and inaccurate information. The creators of Destin.ZapGuide.org think Destin deserves better - particularly in light of Florida's Emerald Coast having just been named as the only continental US location among "Frommer's Top Destinations 2010". Fishing Legacy
Who had influence on you and your fishing? Did your father get you started fishing or, like me, was it your mother? In my life my mother played an important part in my love of fishing but so did uncles and family friends. Thinking about the roots of your love of fishing can bring back great memories and provide a guide to how you should work with children to provide them the same background.

Review: Tick Twister

How to remove a tick? Good question. Folks have been asking that one for ages, and coming up with all kinds of different solutions. Sometimes they work okay... but usually not, in my experience. This product, the Tick Twister, actually works - but I recommend against twisting the tick. Just use one of these tools to pull the tick straight out.

Hunting & Shooting Quick Tips From a Life-Long Hunter

A lifetime of hunting has taught me a few things, and every now and then I get smart enough to put some of them down in writing. Dad taught me that learning is a lifelong process, and as usual, he was right... so I'm going to keep on learning.

Meanwhile, I'll do my best to share my knowledge with others, just like Dad always did. He was always willing to help, always in the most practical way. Therefore, I've condensed some of my most important hunting lessons into handy little tips that are easy to read, easy to remember, and won't take much time out of your busy day.

IGFA Announces Decision On the World Record Bass from Japan
World Record Bass Pictures The IGFA announced its decision today. The 22 pound, 4.97 ounce largemouth caught in Japan by Manabu Kurita will be shown as a tie. George Perry's bass that held the record for over 75 years will be considered a tie although it weighed 22 pounds, 4 ounces. The IGFA requires a new record be beat by two ounces to be considered as breaking the old record.

This rule may not make sense, but the reason is scales are much more accurate now than in the past, and most scales in the past were spring loaded and showed pounds and ounces, not tenths and hundredths of ounces and pounds. So it is possible George Perry's bass weighed as much as Manabu Kurita since the weight was probably rounded off to the nearest ounce.
